The Innovation Award

Over the last few decades, French energy industries have carved out a leading position among their global competitors. But is there adequate recognition for the contribution of SMEs and SMIs to this performance? More often than not, attention has focused on a few of the largest companies and leaders in their sector. To make up for this, in 1998, GEP created the “Innovation Awards”, an annual competition for the oil, gas and associated industries and the energy industry in general.
Theme
Innovation in the field of oil, gas and energy production and treatment.
Organization
The competition is launched in September. Applications must specify:
- the industrial and commercial structure of the SME-SMI,
- details of the innovation with reference to the competition (mention competitors),
- forecast turnover for the innovation over the next few years.
Jury
This is made up of representatives from the entities supporting the awards who meet to select the best projects.

Applicants selected must give a detailed oral presentation of their innovation in front of the jury.

Winners are announced during the Journées annuelles du Pétrole (annual oil industry event) held at the Palais des Congrès, Porte Maillot in Paris.
